I had really low expectations for this place after reading all the reviews. But, it was definitely better than expected. We were seated immediately when we came in, greeted immediately, and got our order in as soon as possible. It didn't take as long as I thought for our food to come out. I recommend getting one of the baked pancakes or one of the skillets. It's a pretty good breakfast place!
okay update: this place made my stomach hurt. -

Changing my review here after the worst customer service I've experienced in years. This place has gone downhill quickly and I wouldn't be surprised if they go out of business soon.
Ordered multiple times and they never once got my order right, but I let it go.
My last order they got both items completely wrong so I called to let them know and asked for a refund because it was missing multiple items from both orders. Not only did a server pretend to be a manager and lie to me about my order being correct, she then laughed at my request for a refund and pretended to take my information down for the manager. She couldn't have cared less with the obvious sarcasm in her voice.
Manager never called me back
I'll never eat here again and would never recommend that anyone else does.
Horrible staff. -

Had a decent outing. Place was not too busy but not empty on a Sunday morning. I got the olympic burger which was really big, but good! Service was good.. All in all, not a bad place to eat.

I was so excited for my trip to Clarkes. I hadn't been in over a year and I was absolutely starving.
My fiancé and I went to Clarkes a little after 9 am and it was pretty busy. Even though the restaurant was quickly filling up we were seated right away. Our waitress was so nice. She gave us candid advice about the dishes we were ordering to ensure we ordered the best dish for what we were craving.
We quickly put in our order and after a little while our waitress came by to apologize for the wait and made sure we were fine. We didn't mind the wait at first because it hadn't been too long and it was pretty busy. We started to quickly notice that everyone around us was starting to get their food. We were being patient and fighting out hangry feelings until we saw a group that showed up at least 10 to 15 mins after us get their food. At that point we debated leaving because it was nearing 40 minutes for an omelete.
Our waitress again came by to apologize and said she would get the manager because she wasn't sure what was happening. It took our waitress getting the manager for them to bring our okay quality food out. The manager came out to apologize and give us 20% off our food. The food was definitely upcharged because of the closeness to Loyola. The food was not that great, my fiance and I could not even finish our food.
When we were wrapping up the bill the waitress disclosed to us that our orders were pushed back because of how busy was that morning. I have been to Clarkes two times and I was not impressed by the food quality. I probably won't come but because the food is definitely not worth the price or wait. -

I went here with a group of friends for dinner over the weekend. The portions were large-but the food was really mediocre. One person ordered the fried tilapia platter, several others ordered the omelettes (FYI-Breakfast is served all day) and I ordered the Burger Platter. Everyone agreed that the food was average-but nothing outstanding. I would opt not to return as it seems a bit overpriced and the food was regular diner fare.
The nice part was that the waitress processed individual checks for my group which consisted of half a dozen people. Thank you!
